Need Urgent Help or Support?

County Durham Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services

If you feel that you would benefit from face to face or telephone support please contact us to speak to one of our friendly, trained staff members.

We offer additional support to work with you to help you manage, reduce or stop your drug or alcohol use.

What will happen when you get in touch?

We’ll talk about your drug or alcohol use, your mental health, your social support and other aspects of your life like your housing situation, to get a full picture of how you are.

The staff member will talk to you about what help you think you might need and what plans you want to make for the future. We won’t ask you to do anything you aren’t ready to do.

Our services are free and confidential.

We also have a dedicated young people’s service and we can work with your family to maximise their support.

Please call us for a free, confidential chat if you or someone else needs support

Need Urgent Help or Support?

If you are distressed or experiencing despair, try to speak to somebody now.

  • Is there a family member or a friend you could call?
  • Is there a neighbour or colleague who can help?

If you or anyone else is in immediate danger or harm, then please call the Police or Ambulance Service on 999.

Do you need medical or mental health help now?

If so, then it is crucial that you contact the right person - most likely your GP. They will help you to get specialist help. If your GP surgery is closed, their answerphone will direct you to the right place.

Call NHS 111 if you need medical help or advice that is not life-threatening.
